ROBOTICS TEAM

Learning is always wonderful, but using what you have learned is the best. Joining the Technix Academy Robotics Team is a fantastic way for your child to build robots for competing and to develop good teamwork skills with competitions that span from regional to worldwide!

WHAT IS THE TECHNIX ACADEMY ROBOTICS TEAM?

The Technix Academy Robotics Team is a group of dedicated Technix students who build robots to compete in official Robotics Competitions. The robotics team here at Technix is a fantastic way for your child to be able to apply what they have learned during their time here with us. In addition to applying their robotics knowledge, students will have the opportunity to work in a team-based environment with other students all working to achieve the same goal.

HOW IT WORKS

The robotics season starts in the summer and ends between Febuary and April. The team is a big responsibility and building a competition robot takes dedication and time. The team starts by brainstorming, designing, and prototyping. Once the school year begins, the team will then begin competing in their competitions. During the school year, students are testing and continuously building between competitions.

HOW TO JOIN

In order to join the team, a student must finish all lessons that fall under the category of the robotics competition team they are trying to join. This can be easily done simply by taking lessons any time of year with us. Before a student competes in robotics, they should know how a robot works and how to build one.

OUR ROBOTIC TEAMS

We have a team for different age groups and robotic categories.

Vex IQ Team

VEX IQ is a robotics system specifically designed to teach young students the fundamental concepts of robotics engineering. VEX IQ competitions are year-round tournaments held at various locations that progress through regional, state, national and world championships. Teams consist of students who work together to design and build a robot that they will use to compete against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Students learn valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, time management, communication, and sportsmanship. To be eligible for the Technix Academy Vex IQ Team, we require that the student be completely finished with the VEX IQ robotics course section and be between 3rd and 8th grade.

Vex EDR Team

VEX EDR is a real-world robotic system designed to teach students the fundamental concepts of robotics engineering. VEX EDR competitions are year-round tournaments held at various locations that progress through regional, state, national and world championships. Teams consist of students who work together to design and build a robot that they will use to compete against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Students learn valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, time management, communication and sportsmanship. To be eligible for the Technix Academy Vex EDR Team, we require that the student be completely finished with the VEX EDR Introduction robotics course section and be between 7th and 12th grade.
