What is STEM? STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math is a field that is growing and changing rapidly. Starting young allows children and teens to get a head start and help them on the path to a fulfilling STEM career, and it’s never too late to start learning. Technix Academy teaches a combination of STEM skills that can give your child the experience and tools to give them an edge over their peers. We have courses for several experience levels, ranging from beginner to advanced, and have a great combination of fun projects and

instructional lessons that will allow your child to have the best experience learning these skills. We accept students from ages 8 to 18 and our curriculum is adapted to teach each age group differently while ensuring all students learn the same skills. We give you the parent an assortment of different courses to choose from that can best match with your child’s interests. We have courses for hardware and software, and everything in between. Our goal is to work with students in a highly interactive environment to maximize the real world experience they gain. Our curriculum changes with new technological advancements to have courses that set the bar for technological skills. We support our local community with outreach programs and we support our students with their endeavors in STEM activities. We’re excited to give your child a foundation in an ever-growing technological world.

WHY LEARN THESE TECHNICAL SKILLS?

To help your child expand their minds

To achieve goals. What we want most for our children, as students, is to be able to learn what they are most passionate about. To accomplish anything they imagine. Because if they can accomplish that, then the future is limitless. Whatever they want to do in the future, they can do on their own. The first step in achieving goals is to find a passion. Children do this naturally and our hope is to simply encourage it. A great way to do this is by showing them the possibilities. When you and your child encounter something new, ask questions and explore. When children ask questions, they are one step further to an incredible future.

Solving problems. If a child can solve problems, they can do anything. A new skill to learn might be intimidating to any of us, but really it’s just another problem to be solved. A new subject, a new environment, a new task, they’re all simply problems to be solved. We teach your child to solve problems by showing simple problem solving, then allowing them to do some easy ones on their own. Don’t immediately solve all your child’s problems, let them fiddle with it and try various possible solutions, and you will see the positive impact it has. Eventually, your child will develop confidence in their problem-solving abilities, and then there is nothing they can’t do.
